On June 20, 2008, the Ontario County Bar Association and the Ontario County Courts were honored by a visit of the Chief Judge of New York State,

the Hon. Judith S. Kaye.

Her visit began with a stop at the historic Hubbell Law Office in Canandaigua.    From there, she was transported by one of the Granger Homestead's antique carriages to the Ontario County Court House, where a re-enactment of the June 1873 trial of Susan B. Anthony for the "crime" of voting as a woman was part of the celebration of Judge Kaye's visit. Kaye, acting as jury foreperson, was joined in the jury box by 13 other prominent local women, who changed history by insisting on giving their unanimous verdict that Anthony was "not guilty" of voting illegally.

The Daily Messenger's report of the event, including photos & video clip, can be accessed at this link.
